The Kitchen is where the Love Is!
Recently moving to Melbourne from Sydney, it took me some time to find a new group of friends.
It wasn't until my recent birthday, when I was standing in the kitchen with all my new friends, that I realised the sheer amount of love and connection I had created in this new city.
I had spent hours that day in the kitchen cooking creamy lasagna for all my friends.
Cooking a meal for my friends is one of my most treasured things in life.
I love the way a shared meal brings a community together.
I love deciding what to make, prepping the meal and spending all day in the kitchen with music in the background making sure it tastes perfect!
That night, my friends and I collectivley stood there in the kitchen, the smell of warm lasagna in the air, glasses of wine in hand and beautiful vibrant art surrounding us.
I loved the way my bright kitchen artworks made the space extra toasty.
It was in this moment that I felt extremely humbled by my own life. I was so proud of the connections I had made, the home that I lived in and the way I held myself in the world.
It was then that I too realised what a beautiful and important space the kitchen is in one's home for creating this sense of love and connection... a space that is made even more special when decorated with vibrant art!
It's the area of the home where families share stories from their busy day, it's the space where grandparents pass on their favourite receipes and it's the space where friends come to connect...

The ‘Kitchen Classics’ is inspired by a moment in my life when all my friends were standing in my kitchen for my birthday, eating the home cooked meal I had made them.
Each piece represents a different sense of warmth and homeliness that is created in the kitchen, whether is be the smell of coffee in the morning or a fresh bunch of market bought flowers on the countertop. I hope that these art pieces can create feelings of warmth and comfort for you, and bring creativity into your kitchen.
